Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children
The Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children (CREVAWC) was founded in 1994 as a collaborative venture between Western University, Fanshawe College and the London Coordinating Committee to End Women Abuse. CREVAWC invests and conducts research that investigates systemic and structural barriers to the safety of women and children, reflecting Western's desire to serve the public interest and advance knowledge locally and globally.

Gender, Equity, Media, and Society Research (GEMS) Lab
At the Gender, Equity, Media, and Society Research (GEMS) Lab, we envision a future where intersectional feminist and other critical thinking guides our work on the topic of gender, media and society. We see a world where empathetic engagement, reciprocal relationships, inclusivity, care, activism, and collaboration are embedded in all we do, driving new discoveries, fostering positive societal change, and amplifying marginalized voices. The GEMS Lab hosts regular meetings where we analyze and discuss academic papers, develop research ideas, share research findings (at all stages of progress), engage in professional development, and come together as a community in the pursuit of a more just and equitable world.
